The tests are done on a fee-for-service basis. The test laboratories are managed under a quality system conforming to ISO/IEC 17025 standard and the main tests for biological evaluation of materials are accredited by Le Comite Francais d' Accreditation (COFRAC of France) (N° 1-1433). While tests will be performed with utmost care in accordance with the procedures, the Institute will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the test materials or the results. Based on discussions, the Institute may agree to re-perform the test on additional material, if provided or refund the test charges paid by the customer. The Institute shall not be liable under any circumstances for any amount in excess of the test charges paid by the customer to the Institute.

Wherever the presence of customer is required for properly carrying out the tests, the customer will be informed and is advised to be present at the time of testing. In other cases, requests for witnessing tests will be considered on a case-to-case basis.

Test material are provisionally accepted by the Customer Service Cell and are subject to review and acceptance by the testing laboratory prior to commencement of tests.

It is the responsibility of the customer to deliver the test material in proper condition. The customer is advised to consult the Customer Service Cell and understand the requirements for submitting test materials for the different tests. In case the customer wishes to have the residual test material returned, it should be indicated in the test request form and the customer should make arrangements for collecting the material back.

The customer must declare true and relevant information about the test material. Materials with hazardous/infectious/radioactive content cannot be handled and are not accepted.

Requests for re-issue of test reports is generally not entertained. However in exceptional cases such request will be reviewed and if found necessary test reports will be re-issued on payment basis.

Test reports which the customer has agreed upon to receive by hand will be retained at the Customer Service Cell for a maximum of three months, after which we are not responsible for non-receipt of the test report.

Wherever feasible, test material shall be retained up to a maximum period of three months after a test is performed. In case a customer desires to archive the test material for longer periods, a request has to be made in advance. Test records are archived for a period of three years only.

In cases where the customer prefer to have the residual / test material back, kindly make arrangements to collect the same in person if the test material is in bulk/ in containers which is difficult to be dispatched by normal post.

All experiments involving the use of animal models are accepted subject to the review, approval and regulations specified by the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC) and Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Govt. of India guidelines and hence the customer details and test material details for tests involving animals will be disclosed to the IAEC/CPCSEA.

Test request for tests involving animals are accepted provisionally subject to the availability of experimental animals. The test duration will vary depending the availability of animals.

Opinions and interpretations are not offered as part of test reports.

The Institute reserves the right to refuse a test request upon its discretion without assigning reasons.

Any other terms and condition(s) specified by the customer in their purchase order for testing services is not applicable and binding on the Institute unless agreed upon and confirmed in writing.

The test/calibration results are not disseminated to any source other than the customer himself.

Customer consent shall be sought before the information pertaining to customer is placed in the public domain.

The legal jurisdiction shall be confined to the courts at Thiruvananthapuram city.
